A Look At Two "Experts"
Please review what we say here, and think on this: IF two of the experts Earthjustice cites are as full of baloney as these two are, what does that say about their other "experts", their case, and their motivations. Apparently the end justifies the means in their little world.
Dr. Resnikoff says that the airport is too unsafe. Honolulu International Airport has twice the incidents of other airports.
What he doesn't tell you is that he includes any incident in that statement, regardless of actual location or damage done. In his sworn testimony he used the data from the NTSB database from 1982 to 2004. There were 50 incidents, of those 2 were duplicates, because two planes were involved. Of the remaining 48 incidents, only 16 were actually at the airport. The rest were anywhere from a few miles to hundreds of miles away. This includes a flight attendant who broke her leg midflight in turbulence. Of the 16 on airport incidents, none could have damaged the irradiator. In deed, none involved any buildings on airport property. So what are we really seeing, 0 threat to the irradiator in over 7 MILLION take offs and landings.

You can review the summaries I have downloaded from the NTSB yourself below, or don't take my word and go search the NTSB yourself.

NOTE: you used to be able to list fatal and non-fatal accidents together, there were 42 non-fatal and 8 fatal so you need to search once with fatal and once with non-fatal.

Summary of Airplane Incidents
As for Dr. Au, the expert on food irradiation. Please read the letter from Dr. Delincee, someone who has actually spent his life studying food irradiation.
I will let Dr. Delincee's letter speak for itself.
